Starting August 15th, 2023, the new visa policies are officially in effect, significantly changing Vietnam's visa and entry regulations. These new measures are expected to drive breakthroughs in the development of an economy.
Vietnam government offers E-visa to citizens around the world, including 257 countries. Foreign people can apply for a Vietnam E-visa online. This means that individuals from anywhere can easily visit Vietnam for tourism, education, commercial activities… The E-Visa is valid for a duration of 1 to a maximum of 3 months. Furthermore, foreigners will be able to enter through all of Vietnam's border gates.
In the past, the Vietnam E-visa was only granted for a maximum period of 1 month ( 30 days). However, Vietnam grants electronic visas for foreigners with a 90-day validity period (3-month E-Visa), available for single or multiple entries. With these policy changes, foreign visitors can confidently plan longer trips for tourism or business in Vietnam.
Foreign people are permitted to stay for 45 days from the time of entry, regardless of passport type or purpose of entry. This change affects citizens of certain countries, including South Korea, Japan, Russia, Sweden, Finland, Norway, Denmark, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Spain, Italy, and Belarus. These countries have close partnerships with Vietnam and contribute to the growth of the nation's economy.
The extension of visa exemption periods for these countries is a significant stride aimed at attracting a higher volume of international tourists to Vietnam. Concurrently, it is expected to bolster connections and cooperation with international partners. These changes will additionally stimulate the local economy, particularly within the tourism industry.
