The programme Northern Highlights Adventure tours is designed to bring you a sense of adventure in the most spectacular mountainous & hilly area of Vietnam. In this tour, tourists will spend time mostly in this area to discover the overwhelming scenery of Northern Loop, the popular hill towns and markets. The region is also home to numerous colorful ethnic minority groups.

Day 1-  Hanoi  Arrival (-/-/D)
“Northern Highlights Adventure tours”  On arrival at Hanoi’s Noi Bai International airport, you will be greeted by our guide and transferred to your hotel in town. Welcome dinner at a lovely restaurant in the Old French Quarter in Hanoi. In the evening, you join a puppet performance. With many visitors who have ever enjoyed Vietnam tours, this performance is a great fun when they can see many colorful and unique puppets dancing over water.  Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 2- Hanoi City tour (B/L/-)
The capital city Hanoi is a unique Asian city with tree-lined boulevards, French colonial architecture, peaceful lakes and Oriental pagodas and temples. This full day tour takes you around Hanoi’s most interesting sights, including the Ho Chi Minh Complex: Ho Chi Minh’s Mausoleum and his Stilt House, Presidential Palace, the One Pillar Pagoda nearby, and the Old Quarter also known as the 36 streets and guilds. Also on the Adventure tours – the Lake of the Restored Sword and Ngoc Son Temple, the Temple of Literature, peaceful West Lake along lovers’ street Thanh Nien, the tranquil Tran Quoc Pagoda and Quan Thanh Temple and one of the city’s museums, either the History Museum or the Ethnology Museum. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 3- Hanoi – Halong (B/L/D)
After check-out the hotel, take a 3-hour scenic drive from Hanoi to Halong Bay by road through the rich farmlands of the Red River Delta with scenery of rice fields. Arrive in Halong city at around noontime, embark on our traditional wooden junk boat for an overnight journey. Sip on a refreshing welcome drink upon check in before you begin your cruise through the bay. Feast on a delicious lunch as you cruise among hundreds of islets (Dinh Huong islet, Ga Choi – Fighting Cock islet, Dog islet, Finger islet, etc.) to discover unspoilt Halong Bay and visit Sung Sot cave, one of the most amazing grottos of the Bay. Swim at Titop island beach nearby or take short trek to the top of Titov Mountain for magnificent panorama scenery.
Kayaking option is provided for any of you those are interested. After visiting Amazing cave, you can go kayaking to Luon Cave to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of the bay.

Day 4- Halong – Hai Phong – Ninh Ninh (B/-/-)
In the early morning, complimentary tea, coffee, fruit and cake are served. Visit Luon cave on small bamboo boat paddled by out crew staff and enjoy the quiet atmosphere enclosed by high islets and mountains. Back to boat. Sail past rock formations such as Man’s Head islet, Tortoise islet, Butterfly cave, Lion islet, Bai Tho Mountain, enjoy the tranquil scenery. Arrange your luggage and do the check out onboard at around mid morning. Enjoy a wholesome brunch as your boat weaves through strange-shaped limestone rock formations.
To continue these Vietnam Adventure tours,  arrive back at Halong city for disembarkation where your driver waits to take you back to Ninh Binh via Thai Binh, the heart of the Red River Delta. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 5- Hoa Lu – Phat Diem Stone Cathedral (B/L/D)
In the morning, take a sampan on Ngo Dong River, Halong Bay on land to visit enjoy the scenery of Tam Coc caves and ancient temples, green rice fields and the life of farmers in the Red River Delta. After the sampan trip, take a short drive to visit the King Dinh and King Le temples of the Ancient Capital Hoa Lu. We want to include many historical sites on these Vietnam Adventure tours for you to discover the history of Vietnam. There are many stories and remnants for your easier imagination about the way of life of the Vietnamese in both the past and the present. Have lunch at a local restaurant. Proceed to visit Phat Diem Cathedral. Overnight in Ninh Binh.

Day 6- Ninh Binh – Mai Chau (B/L/D)
You take a drive West toward Mai Chau with one stop along the way for refreshments and coffee. Continue driving toward Mai Chau valley stopping on the way to take in the spectacular scenery. Our hosts for this evening will be the White Thai minority people and we will stay in one of their traditional stilt houses. There, we will be toasted as honoured guests and will be able to sample some of their homemade rice wine! In sampling these people’s hospitality, we will discover a little more about their lives and culture following the evening meal. It is obviously great to study more about Vietnamese people of minority groups on Vietnam Adventure tours. Tonight’s accommodation will probably be a little more rustic than your usual accommodations at home.

Day 7- Mai Chau – Hoa Binh – Hanoi – Lao Cai for Sapa (B/L/-)
You are free to wander around the villages to get in touch with the Thai ethnic people in the morning. Leave Mai Chau for Hoa Binh – the capital of the Muong ethnic people. Visit Muong people village. Back to Hanoi where you have free time  to enjoy a “Adventure tours” Hanoi including the Old Quarter and Hoan Kiem Lake.. Meet with your guide for transfer to Hanoi Railway Station for night train to Lao Cai. Overnight on train.

Day 8- Lao Cai – Sapa (B/L/-)

The train arrives at the Lao Cai train station at approximately 6 am. There will be a vehicle waiting to transfer you to Sapa. The drive to Sapa is only 33 km, but it takes around 1.5 hours. Once arriving in Sapa Vietnam, we will check in hotel to freshen up and have breakfast. Then, enjoy a free morning of exploration around town. There will be a walking tour to the hill tribe villages of Cat Cat – home to the H’mong hill tribe’s minority peoples. As we walk to the villages nestled in the valley below Sapa, we will meet some of the local minority people on their way to and from Sapa. Here we have the opportunity to share cultural experience with the families that live in the area. It’s interesting to discover their life while joining adventure tours.  Overnight in Sapa.

Day 9- Sapa Walking (B/L/-)
Following breakfast at hotel, we explore the Sapa daily market and then set out on our 3-4 hour trek that will take us along buffalo paths and trails and through several hilltribe villages of Lao Chai and Tavan, home to H’mong, and Dzay people. It is in adventure tours that you can have absolutely spectacular walk through stunning scenery inhabited by some of the friendliest people you can meet. Stop for a picnic lunch on the way at a family in Ta Van village. Ta Phin Village is surrounded by great mountains and owns spectacular rice terraces, which are one of the symbols of Sapa Vietnam. Overnight in Sapa.

Day 10- Sapa – Lao Cai – Hanoi (B/-/-)
In the morning, visit Ham Rong Mountain, which offers you a great view of Sapa and the surrounding area and its orchid gardens. Sapa Vietnam – the favorite destination of adventure tours has been long time famous for these orchid gardens. At noon, you check-out and take a drive to visit Ta Phin village, home to the Red Dao minority people then transfer to Lao Cai Railway station for night train to Hanoi. Overnight on train.

Day 11- Hanoi – Perfume Pagoda (B/L/-)

In the early morning, you arrive at Hanoi Railway Station. You will be picked up and transferred to a mini hotel for refreshment and breakfast. Continue the adventure tours with a drive to visit to Perfume pagoda. This temple, its name, has been a theme of many songs, topic of poetry, in literary works as well as backdrops for paintings. On this tour Hanoi, we bring this picturesque land to your ideal photograph stops. On arrival, take a cruise along a river to an area considered by Vietnamese Buddhists as a holy place. Climbing up to the mountain to visit beautiful temples and pagodas built on cliffs. It will provide you with a nice balance of cultural exploration and physical exercise. You will have picnic lunch. Drive back to Hanoi in the afternoon. Overnight in Hanoi.

Day 12- Hanoi Departure (B/-/-)
